There is bottled water at the bars, but in the restaurants it comes from pitchers-I'm pretty sure it runs through a purification system. Everything seemed to be vey sanitary and healthy. Here are a few general observations about the food. My wife and I traveled down from 4/19-4/25. I will post two reviews: one for the food, and one later for the rest of the resort. So I feel at least nominally qualified to talk about the food. I also have extensive experience travelling and eating in Latin America and the Caribbean. I do a lot of cooking, and a chef friend of mine says that I have the best palette of any non-chef he knows. What I have seen a lot of is people who have not travelled a lot internationally criticising the food. I have read hundreds of reviews on this hotel, but there has been nothing really in-depth on the food. (I think it resulted from the seafood quesadillas at th seafood restaraunt, but I'm not positive.) I had one slightly abnormal bowel movement, which had more to do with the sheer amount of food I was eating rather than an ill-prepared food.

My wife had only one abnormal bowel movement, and it was on the last day.
